| Our score | SCORE7.1 / 10 | SCORE7.0 / 10 |
| Our take | A ductable 70-pint unit with 200 CFM for a sealed crawl space or basement that stays above the mid-50s. It stops dehumidifying below 50°F inlet air, and AprilAire publishes only an 80°F rating to judge it by. | The pump model for a basement or crawl space that drops below 41°F, rated from 33°F. AlorAir publishes no 65°F rating and no lift height, so size it smaller than its 55 pints and measure the drain run first. |

| Watch out for | AprilAire publishes only the legacy 80°F rating; there's no 65°F or 73°F figure and the E070 isn't on ENERGY STAR's list, so don't line its 70 up against current-test ratings. The warranty is void if defects result from not installing per AprilAire's instructions, and AprilAire recommends a professional install; labor is never covered. E070 Pro is an Amazon listing name, not an AprilAire model. Used units from private sellers or auction sites aren't covered. | No ENERGY STAR listing and no 65°F capacity; its gravity sibling, the HD55S, is listed at 36.33 pints at 65°F. Three units share the HD55 name: the original HD55 (R410A), the HD55S (R32, ENERGY STAR, gravity drain) and the HD55P (built-in pump). 6-year limited for orders from Apr 14, 2026: 2 years full, then refrigeration parts only. A unit sent in for inspection ships at your cost after 6 months, there's no in-home service, and coverage requires purchase from AlorAir or an authorized dealer. |
