Our takeThe longest SoftHeat at 83 in: 1,500 W on 240 V for a larger room. Same silent, steady heat and the same running cost per BTU as any baseboard. The plug-in route if you have, or will add, a dedicated 30 A circuit with a NEMA 6-30R outlet, and a heater you can store in summer. Its manual says floor use only, not for household use, and not to leave it running unattended for long.

Watch out forThermostat sold separately. A 120 V SoftHeat on a 240 V circuit fails; a 240 V model on 120 V makes a quarter of its heat. The product page advertises wall or ceiling mounting; the manual says floor heater only. Go by the manual. Not for areas where gasoline, paint or flammable liquids are used or stored.
