Our takeThe small Distinctions heat-pump PTAC, COP 3.4, with controls on the unit. We found no verified listing to link.A long-running fixed-speed dual-hose portable whose 14,000 BTU box number drops to 9,500 BTU SACC, the biggest gap of the four Whynters. Owners report daily draining when its self-evaporation can't keep up.

Watch out forWarranty is 5-year limited from purchase; years 2-5 functional parts are parts-only, labor needs an authorized PTAC servicer, and faulty installation is excluded. A Daikin-made line sold under the Amana name; don't assume Amana J or K specs or controls carry over. Plug type isn't in any Distinctions document we could verify; read the cord tag and nameplate.Warranty is 1 year plus 3 years on the compressor, but service is mail-in, only within the 48 contiguous states, needs an authorized Whynter dealer, and you pay return freight after month two. The manual now covers a revised ARC-14S2. ARC-14SH is the heat version.
