Our takeOur pick for most PTAC buyers: R-32, 12,000 BTU/h cooling, 10,800 BTU/h of heat pump output and controls on the unit, for far less than the Amana J. Its listing says it fits a standard 42 in sleeve. The December 2024 12,000 BTU U at CEER 15.2, not recalled. Hard to find; the current V1UWT is the easier buy.

Watch out forWarranty is 5-year limited from purchase; years 2-5 functional parts are parts-only, labor needs an authorized PTAC servicer, and faulty installation is excluded. A Daikin-made line sold under the Amana name; don't assume Amana J or K specs or controls carry over. Plug type isn't in any Distinctions document we could verify; read the cord tag and nameplate.Midea sold the U2QWT and the recalled U1QWT with the same CEER ratings and near-identical titles; one digit separates them.
