Our takeA window heat pump GE rated to keep heating down to a 5°F shutoff, which the cheap units don't. Owners report GE has discontinued it, and the only Amazon offer we found was used. The December 2024 U revision, not recalled, at CEER 16 with ENERGY STAR Most Efficient status. About 6% less power than the CEER 15 V1UWT for the same cooling, which is nice but not worth chasing a hard-to-find listing.

Watch out forDiscontinued per owners; avoid used units with no warranty. Two owners report early failures; a third suspects a refrigerant leak.Midea sold the U2QWT and the recalled U1QWT with the same CEER ratings and near-identical titles; one digit separates them.
