Our scoreSCORE6.3 / 10SCORE6.5 / 10
Our takeA budget 6,000 BTU box unit for 150-250 sq ft with a remote and auto restart. Not a Midea U and not recalled; we prefer the Frigidaire FHWC063TC1 at the same price for its fuller specs and airflow. Our budget pick for a 150-250 sq ft bedroom: remote, digital thermostat, three speeds, auto restart and 265 CFM on high. CEER 11.0, so it is louder and less efficient than an inverter.

Watch out forMidea publishes no amp or watt rating we could find; read the nameplate. Energy Saver switches on by default in Cool, Dry and Auto. Failures from improper installation are excluded from the warranty.Eco mode is on at start-up and stops the fan with the compressor; switch it off for steady airflow. Keep the 1/4-1/2 in backward tilt; drilling the base pan voids the warranty. Warranty is one year of functional repairs and excludes units transferred from the original owner.
