Our scoreSCORE6.9 / 10SCORE7.6 / 10
Our takeThe most efficient size in the line and a fair bedroom heater on 115V, but at -13°F it is down to a 3,800 BTU/h maximum, so cold nights need backup heat.Same NEEP heat as the 12K at every temperature with 33.3 SEER2; the efficiency pick if 9,000 Btu/h of cooling is enough.

Watch out forMRCOOL also called its older R-410A 4th Gen DIY "E Star"; confirm R-454B and a model number of the form DIY-...D25-O. DIYS- is the cheaper DIY Select and EZPRO- is the Easy Pro; a listing that says "5th Gen" and "Select" is the Select. The manual says the line sets install once; reconnecting them, or the pipes at the outdoor unit, voids the warranty.Senville's FAQ says no to owner installs; warranty registration asks for the installing company and invoice. Senville's site lists higher HSPF2 than the AHRI figures on NEEP; we use the certified numbers. Senville's 22.0 HSPF2 for the 9K is far above its AHRI certificate (14.6).
