If a listing says 8,000 BTU Windmill, make sure it's the 08W2Wi WhisperTech, not this.Our window heat pump pick for cooling plus spring and fall heat: CEER 14.5, Most Efficient, sold by Amazon. The heat pump shuts off below 41°F outside, so pair it with a space heater anywhere it freezes.

Watch out forSame size and look as the 8,000 BTU WhisperTech (08W2Wi), which rates CEER 15.Below 41°F outside the unit shuts off and shows LO (manual); owners who checked found no firmware that lowers it. Owners report rattles in the first days; adhesive foam at contact points helps if the cause is the window or bracket. A conventional box unit, not U-shaped; Midea's U models have no heat mode.
