Our takeThe R-410A model from Amana's 2023 redesign, rated 11,600 BTU/h cooling at EER 11.0. It needs a wall thermostat, and Amana's warranty PDF doesn't name the K series, so get written terms. The December 2024 12,000 BTU U at CEER 15.2, not recalled. Hard to find; the current V1UWT is the easier buy.

Watch out forWarranty is 5-year limited, but years 2-5 cover functional parts only (no labor) and labor needs an authorized PTAC servicer; faulty installation is excluded. Amana's site now lists only J (R-32) models; the K looks like it's being phased out.Midea sold the U2QWT and the recalled U1QWT with the same CEER ratings and near-identical titles; one digit separates them.
