Our takeThe cooling-only 14,000 BTU Duo, 12,000 BTU SACC, for a hot top-floor room or a studio. Same hose-in-hose duct and inverter as the heat model.Amana's R-32 heat-pump PTAC: EER 11.5, 11,000 BTU/h of heat pump output and a 3.5 kW strip. Worth it when you're replacing an Amana with a thermostat already on the wall; otherwise the Distinctions costs less.

Watch out for1-year warranty; the owner pays diagnostics, removal, transport and reinstallation for service. Midea's US page for the -A version lists Heat: No but mentions heat under comfort features; it doesn't heat.Warranty is 5-year limited, but years 2-5 cover functional parts only (no labor) and labor needs an authorized PTAC servicer; faulty installation is excluded. No control pad on the unit; a wired wall or Amana wireless thermostat is required. Amana's K-series (PTH123K) is the older R-410A platform with different ratings.
