Our takeOur pick for one to three people in a fishing hut, tent or truck cap, or one room in an outage: 4,000 or 9,000 BTU/hr on one 1 lb cylinder with half the Big Buddy's vent opening. No thermostat or fan, and the low-oxygen shutoff doesn't detect CO.The longest SoftHeat at 83 in: 1,500 W on 240 V for a larger room. Same silent, steady heat and the same running cost per BTU as any baseboard.

Watch out forNot sold to Massachusetts or Canada from Mr. Heater's page; not for a dwelling home in California. The low-oxygen shutoff does not detect carbon monoxide; run a battery CO alarm listed to UL 2034 wherever the heater runs. Remote tanks stay outdoors on a Mr. Heater hose (F273699 filter yearly unless it's the F273704); for emergency home heat the manual allows 1 lb cylinders only. Never run it while sleeping; vent 9 sq in at the ceiling and at floor level.Thermostat sold separately. A 120 V SoftHeat on a 240 V circuit fails; a 240 V model on 120 V makes a quarter of its heat.
