Our scoreSCORE6.9 / 10SCORE7.5 / 10
Our takePlenty of heat at 5°F for a bigger garage, but at -13°F it makes less than the 18k, so it is the wrong upsize if your coldest nights are the problem. For a big open zone in a cold climate with a contractor doing the install: 24,200 BTU/h at 5°F. Its high minimum output rules out single rooms.

Watch out forMRCOOL's catalog ticks ENERGY STAR Cold Climate for this size; NEEP's record says ENERGY STAR yes, Cold Climate no. Check the rebate program's own list. MRCOOL also called its older R-410A 4th Gen DIY "E Star"; confirm R-454B and a model number of the form DIY-...D25-O. DIYS- is the cheaper DIY Select and EZPRO- is the Easy Pro; a listing that says "5th Gen" and "Select" is the Select. The manual says the line sets install once; reconnecting them, or the pipes at the outdoor unit, voids the warranty.Senville's 24k page shows a ceiling-cassette spec table, so these figures come from NEEP only. The Amazon 24k listing (SENA/24HF) doesn't state refrigerant; confirm the model before you pay. Senville sells the Aura on Amazon itself, and SENA-12HF-16 is the kit number Senville's own site lists for the current R-454B Aura; a few listing fields (a 25.5 efficiency figure, a 2-year parts warranty) still show older numbers, so go by Senville's spec sheet. Current R-454B wall pairings are SENA-xxHF-OG + SENA-xxHF-IGG; older R-410A pairings end /OQ + /IQ. Senville's site lists higher HSPF2 and 47°F heat than the AHRI figures on NEEP; we use the certified numbers. Senville's FAQ says no to owner installs, and the warranty requires a licensed HVAC contractor.
