At this size an LG Dual Inverter at CEER 15 is the better buy.The biggest current U, not recalled and rated CEER 15. We found no verified listing for it, and a 12,000 BTU unit on a shared 115V circuit deserves a check of what else is on that outlet.

Watch out forWindmill's warranty is one year on every size, with no longer compressor term, and owners report control-board and stop-cooling failures. Windmill sells a non-inverter Original and a budget Lite line under the same name; confirm the model number on the box.CPSC recall #25320 (June 2025) covers the 8,000-12,000 BTU V1QWT, AV1QWT, W1QWT and U1QWT Midea U models over mold from pooled water. Read the suffix on the listing and again on the box label. The recalled 12,000 BTU models are MAW12V1QWT, MAW12AV1QWT, MAW12W1QWT and MAW12U1QWT.
